Project life cycle and procedures
Faculties and departments are asked to review their space allocations annually within the context of a multi-year plan to ensure the best use of allocated space. Each January the Four-year Infrastructure and Space Planning Request Form will be distributed with an expected return date of March.
The projects submitted are intended to capture requirements with an expected occupancy date of the summer of the following year and beyond. For projects with an expected completion date in the first year of the cycle, please complete and submit the Project Initiation Request Form.
Forms are to be submitted by the last business day of March to Tanya Mayorga, Capital Planning Officer.
These requests are reviewed within the context of the university’s strategic priorities and mission. Projects moving forward are developed in further detail in priority sequence. Each project proceeds through an evaluation process at each stage of development. As a project moves forward, a Project Charter will be completed; all parties involved will sign off on it.
The Project Charter is used to finalize detailed design and move into construction, occupancy and closeout.
OCIS will keep the requesting faculty or department informed of the project's progress throughout the cycle.
